An anthology of 12 works by the Romanian playwright and poet Matei Vișniec
‘My Nationality, the Color of the Wind’ – an anthology of 12 works by the Romanian playwright and poet Matei Vișniec about all those things that define us without us seeing them.
In a world that increasingly intensifies the need for certainty, the peculiarities of the self fade away – as if bleach has been dripped over them. That is where thought begins to seem dangerous, turning against the very organism that gives birth to it. A metaphor for the life we live and the one we learn to accept. For the circles we draw around ourselves in search of safety. For the moments when life feels like a road with no return. For the “brainwashing” we undergo daily and for the freedom that lies hidden on the other side of fear. Deeply influenced by the Theatre of the Absurd, Vișniec’s text uses humor and exaggeration to highlight the most serious truths, mapping with precision our contemporary existential impasse.
