Abroad promises prospects of growth and a sense of security. We often hear in the news about a "wave of migration abroad" and experts analyzing the complex phenomenon of "brain drain." Yet behind the numbers and statistics, there are people, stories, and luggage. Yes, luggage…
Set against the backdrop of Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, and sparked by the delay of a flight to London, the lives of eleven people preparing to leave Greece and begin a new chapter in England inevitably intersect. The departure gate becomes a place of encounter, confession, ‘coincidence.’ Eleven different lives sharing one common coordinate: the Greece they leave behind, the people they part with, the dreams they carry, and the fears hidden in their luggage. A story about those who left, and those who stayed behind... Those who had to grow up quickly, swallow their emotions, and keep looking ahead.
