Performance about the desire for solace and silence set to music by Arvo Pärt.
The timeless, immaculate and introspective music of Estonian composer Arvo Pärt (1935) induces the desire for solace and silence in times of confusion and unrest. That is why the silences in Pärt's work are so full of meaning. In this performance 'Summa' eight cellists and two dancers unite in utmost concentration. Pärt's music and the knowledge stored in the human body: 'Summa' summarizes man’s complexity. Pärt's sounds caress the space like a whisper, while the dance cleaves the space like a storm.
