Meeslepende danstrip en betoverend liedjesprogramma

In ‘Club Guy & Roni Invites’ nodigt het dansgezelschap jaarlijks veelbelovende makers uit. Dit keer zijn dat de Finse choreograaf Cecilia Moisio en zangeres en actrice Sarah Janneh. Moisio maakt activistisch, expressief en theatraal werk. ‘ADI(C)SCO’ is een danstrip over voortdurend op zoek zijn naar de roes en jezelf daarin verliezen. Moisio wil hiermee de taboes en schaamte rond verslaving aankaarten. De voorstelling opent met Janneh, lid van NITE, die haar eerste solo liedjesprogramma maakt.

In the annual Club Guy & Roni Invites event, international dance company Club Guy & Roni works with up-and-coming artists. This year, after Kwame Asafo-Adjei, Dunja Jocic, Lunatics & Poets, and Mohamed Yusuf Boss, it’s the turn of Finnish-born choreographer Cecilia Moisio. Singer and actor Sarah Janneh provides a captivating vocal prelude.

Moisio is one of the Netherlands’ most eclectic directors and choreographers, and a winner of the Prijs van de Nederlandse Dansdagen young audience award. She makes expressively theatrical pieces on key contemporary issues. Her thrillingly sensual, in-your-face performance about the vulva, V, produced in collaboration with Club Guy & Roni’s Poetic Disasters Club (junior company), was a smash hit at the De Parade festival.

ADI(C)SCO is a seemingly endless dance trip in search of the ultimate high, one that keeps going until you’re lost in addiction.

Sarah Janneh has been a member of NITE (Nationaal Interdisciplinair Theater Ensemble) since 2021. We’ve already heard her singing in NITE’s large-scale interdisciplinary performances, and now she stages her first solo song programme for Club Guy & Roni Invites.
